Abstract
This qualitative study, integrated in the scope of teacher training, shows how some of these values, and subsequent practices, can be promoted in an early age, properly in Preschool Education and Primary School. Based on the methodology of sociometric tests, using cards with photographic images of unknown children, the research was carried out with a group of 24 children, between 3 and 4 years old, and 20 students from elementary school with nine years old. The data analysis shows us the average percentages on their preferences on cultural, gender, skin color and disability. These results highlight aspects of choice, how they perceive and what they think about other children considered “different". This study emphasises the fundamental role of teachers in promoting and raising awareness of the acceptance of difference and diversity.
