Abstract
Play and experiment with games and toys is an essential element in Childhood Education. It helps children grow and integrate into their environment. For this reason both, election and use of games and toys, are very relevant educational functions that educators cannot leave in the hands of the market. Digital languages should not replace the value of the everyday games, simple but full of history and meaning, that offer rich and versatile modalities of relation to objects. This paper defends the idea that the characteristics of the objects used for playing strongly influence their educational value.
